Jean E. Trott

Jean E. Trott, 69, of 419 Linanore Ave., Hagerstown, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at her home.

Born Jan. 2, 1933, in Boonsboro, she was the daughter of the late John Alexander and Edna Grace Keckler.

She retired from C&P Telephone Co. after 32 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Shannon D. Summers; a son, Donald C. Haynie; a grandson, Daniel A. Summers; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

Her body was donated to the Anatomy Board of Maryland.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County.

Ida L. Gray


BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Ida Lea Gray, 69, of Berkeley Springs, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs.

Born March 16, 1933, in Berkeley Springs, she was the daughter of the late Marlin William McBee Sr. and Lillie Belle Lopp McBee.

She attended Grape Hill School and Spohrs Crossroads School and was a 1951 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.

She worked as an admissions clerk at War Memorial Hospital during the early 1950s and retired in 1983 after 32 years of service as a proof machine operator with the bookkeeping department of Citizens National Bank.

She was a member of Berkeley Baptist Church.

She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 60, Women of the Moose Chapter 1311, Ladies Auxiliary of Risinger-Stotler VFW Post 4019 and Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 4433, all of Berkeley Springs.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Harry Vincent Gray Sr.; a son, Harry V. Gray Jr. of Berkeley Springs; a daughter, Pier A. Gray of Berkeley Springs; two sisters, Marian A. Park and Eloise C. Keddington, both of Berkeley Springs; a brother, Bobbie D. McBee of Berkeley Springs; a granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred McBee, and three brothers, Marlin W. McBee Jr., Lester McBee and James McBee.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs. Burial will be in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will open at 10 a.m.

Cody R. Bowers

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Cody Roger Bowers, 25 days, of Berkeley Springs, died Friday, Aug. 2, 2002, at West Virginia University Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va.

Born July 9, 2002, in Morgantown, he was the son of Randy and Lee Weber Bowers of Berkeley Springs.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Stormi J. Bowers of Winchester, Va.; a brother, Nathan L. Bowers of Berkeley Springs; maternal grandparents Fern Fox of Berkeley Springs and Lee and Carol S. Fox of Berkeley Springs; paternal grandmother Glenna I. Bowers of Berkeley Springs; aunts; uncles; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Clifton R. Bowers.

A private graveside service will be held Monday at Union Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Berkeley Springs.

Arrangements are by Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs.
