Hagerstown A wins two games - Friday's area roundup

BOARDMAN, Ohio - Hagerstown A defeated Tuscarora, Ohion, 9-5, and Tri-T South, 6-5, in the East Zone West Region tournament winner's bracket on Friday.

Jeremiah Mills had three hits and Matt Murray had two hits, including a homer, in the win over Tuscarora.

Phil Jordan, Matt Murray, Erick Teller combined on a six-hitter with 12 strikeouts, Mills and Robert Snowden each had two hits and Scott Keeney hit a home run in the win over Tri-T South.

Hagerstown A will play Tri-T North today afternoon in the winner's bracket.


Club Softball

Minnesota Irish 1, Heartbreakers 0: Candy Warden gave up seven hits and struck out four for the Heartbreakers.

Heartbreakers 1, Schaumberg Sluggers 0: Lexy Myers struck out four, while Liz Hamill and Candy Warden each had two hits.

Visalia (Ca.) Sting 2, Heartbreakers 1: Alison Higgs pitched a three-hitter with six strikeouts for the Heartbreakers run.

River City Classic

National 11, Federal 1: Craig Walling, Garrick Boward, Brandon Burnett and Trevor Haupt all had two hits while Nick Gross pitched a three-hitter for National. Alex Shearer had two hits for Federal.

Adam Kees Tournament

Federal 9, Maugansville 8: Jeff Wentzell had four hits and Drew Williams had two hits for Federal. Brent Bell and Ron Glazer had two hits apiece for Maugansville.


Hub City Softball

Century 21 27, JMS 16: Nick Bowers, Brad Moore and Allen Moore had five hits, Lew Thomas had five hits, including two homers, Kenny Deeds had four hits and Brad Weaver added a home run for Century 21.

Hagerstown Area Church Softball

Virginia Ave. 20, Nazarene 7: Bill Green had five hits and Willie Beard, Jeff Mowen and John Merrbaugh all had three hits for Virginia Ave.
