Rosalie A. Grove

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Rosalie A. Chamberlain Grove, 72, of 102 S. Potomac St., died Friday, Aug. 2, 2002, at Waynesboro Hospital.

Born Jan. 27, 1930, in Five Forks, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Carroll L. and Iola M. Stine Chamberlain.

She attended Quincy, Pa., schools.

She was employed by Stanley Co. in Chambersburg, Pa. Prior to retiring in 1992, she was employed by the State of Pennsylvania Department of Education in Harrisburg, Pa.

She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Waynesboro.

She was a member of National AARP, Pennsylvania Retired Employees and the Silver Star Saddle Club of Greencastle, Pa.

She is survived by a sister, Dolores K. Recard of Waynesboro; a brother, Harry M. Chamberlain of Sommerville, S.C.; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. Pastor Lin Smalec will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Kathleen M. Schildt

Kathleen M. Schildt, 83, of West Irvin Ave., Hagerstown, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at Reeders Memorial Home, Boonsboro.

Born Aug. 27, 1918, in Ringgold, she was the daughter of the late Boyd and Myrtle V. Davis Wiles Sr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd U. Schildt, in 1990.

She was employed by J.J. Newberry Store and McCrory Store, both in Hagerstown.

She was a member of Grace Brethren Church in Waynesboro.

She is survived by a son, William M. Schildt of Hagerstown; a brother, Boyd Wiles Jr. of Naples, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Dunn and Lena Sanders, and a brother, Paul Wiles.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church in Hagerstown. The Rev. Scott Bellows will officiate.

Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 101 E. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Jean E. Trott

BOONSBORO - Jean E. Trott, 69, of Boonsboro, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at her home.

Born Jan. 2, 1933, in Boonsboro, she was the daughter of the late John Alexander and Edna Grace Keckler.

She is survived by a daughter, Shannon D. Summers; a son, Donald C. Haynie; a grandson, Daniel A. Summers; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County.




Elverta E. Fritz

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Elverta E. Fritz, 87, of 223 N. Hackberry Drive and formerly of Cove Gap, Pa., died Friday, Aug. 2, 2002, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Aug. 17, 1914, in Little Cove, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William and Gertrude Weller Shoemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Fritz, in 1967.

She was employed by the former Mercersburg Tannery in Mercersburg, Pa.

She was a member of St. James United Brethren Church in Chambersburg.

She was a member of Chambersburg Senior Citizens Center and the Ladies Auxiliary of Harry Lackhove American Legion Post 517 of Mercersburg.

She is survived by a daughter, Amy M. Hopkins of Mercersburg; two sons, Coey W. Fritz of Fort Loudon, Pa., and John F. Fritz of Mansfield, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Rosalie Stetler of York, Pa.; a stepson, Harry F. Fritz of Mercersburg; a sister, Izora Bivens of Hancock; five grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.

Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, Mercersburg. The Rev. Michael Rockwell will officiate. Burial will be in Methodist Church Cemetery, Little Cove.

Visitation will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Charles L. Taylor Jr.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Charles Lester Taylor Jr., 52, of 174 Broad View Court, Falling Waters, W.Va., and formerly of Williamsport, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at the Veterans Affairs Nursing Home in Martinsburg.

Born Oct. 7, 1949, in Washington County, he was the son of the late Charles Lester Taylor Sr. and Ruth Rebecca Rickard Taylor.

He was a 1967 graduate of Williamsport High School.

He was in the infantry with the U.S. Army, retiring in 1973.

He was of the Protestant faith.

He was a member of Williamsport Moose and Conococheague Tribe 84 I.O.R.M. in Williamsport.

He is survived by a daughter, Tammy Sue Lowery of Pinesburg; a son, Jason Lee Taylor of Williamsport; three sisters, Cheryl Hott, Charlotte Cline and Crystal Taylor, all of Hagerstown; two brothers, Carroll Taylor and Curtis Taylor, both of Falling Waters; and two grandchildren.
