Suns, Bats rained out

July 25, 2002

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Rain kept the Hagerstown Suns from attempting to continue their recent change of fortunes on Wednesday.

The Suns, who have won five of eight, mostly on their current road trip, had their game with the Greensboro Bats rained out. The teams will play two today.

Hagerstown (10-22 South Atlantic League second half) started the second half by losing 19 of its first 24 games, but have turned it around on the road.

Branden Florence and Scoop McDowell had three hits Tuesday night in the Suns' come-from-behind 6-4 victory over the Bats, in which Hagerstown had 13 hits and erased an early 4-0 deficit.

The Suns finish their road trip at Greensboro on Friday -- the last of a four-game series -- before returning home Saturday for a four-game series against the Lexington Legends.
