Before and After School CARE Program registration is open

July 23, 2002

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Registration at the Waynesboro Area YMCA for the Before and After School CARE program is open for the 2002-2003 school year. The licensed program not only provides children with a safe place to go after school, but also gives them the opportunity to participate in swimming, games, tutoring, crafts and much more.

Tanja Koons, child care program director, states that "character values and Bible lessons are an important part of our weekly activities here at the YMCA. We encourage responsibility, caring, respect and honesty in all of our children."

The YMCA is looking for friendly, energetic individuals to help lead the Before and After School CARE program.

The program begins Aug. 26 and ends the last day of school. New for this year is the School's Out Club, which provides reliable child care for children on non-school days.

Koons said, "The School's Out Club will include many of the same activities as our Before and After School CARE program with the addition of field trips which will include bowling, skating, miniature golf and many more fun activities."
