Children escape serious injury in Pa. crash



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa - Two children secured in child safety seats escaped serious injury early Saturday when the car they were riding in ran off Pa. 696 and crashed into a concrete wall, Pennsylvania State Police said.

The driver, Tyson Loy, age unknown, of Shippensburg, Pa., was driving a 1990 Volkswagen at 8:20 a.m. when he apparently fell asleep at the wheel, police said.

A 2-year-old girl was unhurt while an 8-month-old boy received minor injuries.

Drug operation results in charges for teen

FREDERICK - An undercover drug operation by Frederick City Police early Sunday at the Carver Apartments complex netted a 17-year-old boy who was charged with numerous drug violations.

The teen was charged at 1:15 a.m. with distribution of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and possession of cocaine.

Police transported the teen to a juvenile detention facility after he was charged.




Police on lookout for purse snatcher



Hagerstown City Police were on the lookout Sunday for a man who snatched a woman's purse at Weis Market on Eastern Boulevard around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

The only description of the thief is that he was wearing all black clothing, police said.

As of presstime, police said they had a tag number of a possible getaway vehicle.
