Suns beat Legends, 6-5

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Hagerstown Suns won their second straight and fourth in five games Saturday with a 6-5 win over the Lexington Legends before 7,195 at Applebees Park.

Robbie Meyer's solo homer in the eighth inning broke an 5-5 tie and Ryan Meaux retired the side 1-2-3 in the ninth for his 15th save.

Hagerstown took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on Scoop McDowell's homer. Julian Benavidez gave Hagerstown a 3-1 lead in the sixth inning with a single, the third straight by the Suns (Derin McMains and Branden Florence). McDowell and Justin Knoedler each hit savrifice flies for a 5-1 lead.

Lexington rallied to tie the game in the seventh, including a two-run homer of Hagerstown winner, James Gregg (5-2).

Meyer then hit his homer to left-center field to give Hagerstown (9-21) the lead and the win.
