Tyler named assistant AD at Shepherd College


SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Shepherd basketball coach Ken Tyler has been given additional duties as assistant athletic director.

Tyler, who became the men's basketball coach last season, will be in charge of certain non-revenue sports, games management and fundraising for the Division II school.

Maryland Orioles 8, Williamsport Senators 7: Ben Jordan, Greg Small, Cody Beard and Brad Turner had two hits each for Williamsport. Turner homered.

Williamsport Senators 16, New York Volunteers 2: David Warrenfeltz had three hits, while Leo Schill, Jay Love and Brad Turner each added two for Williamsport. The Senators play today at noon at Beckley, W.Va.

Funkstown 6, Huntington 1: Jeremy McAfee pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts, allowing just four hits for Funkstown. T.J. Bowser had two RBI. Funkstown will play today at 5:30 p.m.

Jerry's Sports 20, Dual HIghway 8: Curtis Eby had four hits, while Dave Ricker, Chris Ricker and Wade Elwood each added three hits for Jerry's. Eby, Dave Ricker, Scott Shupp and Rick Hayes all homered.

Tony's Pizza/MCI 23, ALM Embroidery/MCTC 7: Greg Petty had six hits, while Bob McPherson and Kenny Rowland each had five hits for Tony's. McPherson homered twice, while Petty and Scott Coulter homered once. Gary Smith homered for ALM.
