WAYNESBORO, Pa. - A court hearing for a Chambersburg, Pa., man accused of stabbing and killing his estranged wife in front of her home this month was postponed.

The hearing of William Edward Cleary, 28, was to be held Monday morning before District Justice Larry Pentz in Waynesboro, but it was continued. A new date has not been set.

Cleary, of 137 E. Garfield St., was charged with first-degree murder after his wife, Teresa J. Cleary, 33, was found stabbed outside her Fayetteville, Pa., home on July 13, according to court records.

Cleary was in Chambersburg Hospital for five days recovering from self-inflicted stab wounds before he was transferred to Franklin County Prison on Wednesday, where he is being held without bail, according to police and prison officials.
