    District. 1 11-12 Al-Stars


    American 5, Halfway 0: Michael Russ threw a two-hitter and Tim Jacobson had two hits, including a home run and four RBI, to lead American. Jimmy Eichelberger added two hits in the win. Dee Scott had both hits for Halfway.

    Maugansville 13, Frostburg 2: Hamilton Stamper had three hits, while Ben Barnett, Shane Wollaston and Aaron Mills each had two hits for Maugansville.

    Clear Spring 9, Sharpsburg 1: Cody Macarthy had three hits, including a home run, while Danny Reed and Chipper Mellot each added two hits to lead Clear Spring. Reed also was the winning pitcher, allowing just three hits.

    Aladdin Awards 30, Longmeadow Rotary 6: Christina Embly had five hits, including a home run, and Amanda McCue had three hits, including a home run, to lead Aladdin. Lisa Wetzel homered and Shannon Quinones had four hits for Aladdin. Brandi Thompson had three hits for Longmeadow.

Smithsburg 11-12 Tournament


Smithsburg 10, Fairfield 6: Josh Conway and Jared Ferguson had three hits, while Brock Kettoman added two for Smithsburg. Tim Cole also had a three-run homer for Smithsburg. Andrew Donaldson led Fairfield with two hits.

    Grumbine wins at UM


    COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Smithsburg's Clark Grumbine shot a net 61 to win the 16-17 division of the University of Maryland Junior Golf Classic.

    The tournament featured 100 high school golfers from the state. Teammate Steve Young shot a gross 83 and also had a top-10 finish in the tournament. Also from Smithsburg, Riley Leddon and Colter Heurich shot 94s.

    Hub City Softball League


    Miller Lite 22, Midas 12: Jonny Hartle and Doug Keller had four hits each, while Larry Moore, Eric Andrews, and Tim Smith each added three hits for Miller Lite. Greg McCoy homered twice, Eric Leather and Steve Barrett each hit one homer for the winners.

    Sealy 19, Dual Highway Motors 12: Jason Jackson went 5-for-5 with two home runs, while Jeff Pittsnogle added four hits to lead Sealy.
