Two W.Va. residents sentenced on cocaine charges

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Two Jefferson County, W.Va., residents were sentenced on drug charges this week in U.S. District Court by Judge W. Craig Broadwater.

U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Johnston said the sentences were handed out in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia in Martinsburg.

Susan Lee Hardy, 27, of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., was sentenced to 42 months in prison followed by three years supervised release.

Hardy entered a guilty plea on March 26 to one count of distribution of crack cocaine on June 8, 2001, in Charles Town, W.Va.

Charles Emanuel Rash, 44, of Charles Town, was sentenced to 151 months in prison followed by three years supervised release.

Rash entered a guilty plea on March 14, 2002, to one charge of distribution of crack cocaine on Nov. 11, 2000, in Charles Town.

Both Rash and Hardy are in federal custody.

The two cases were investigated by the Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force.
