Marden D. Peck

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Marden D. Peck, 84, of 128 S. Fayette St., died Thursday, July 4, 2002, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, Pa.

Born Sept. 28, 1917, in Fulton County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Blanche Fix Schooley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy G. Peck Sr., in 1987.

She was a former employee of the Mercersburg Shirt Factory and the Lowengart Co. in Mercersburg. She also did general housekeeping in the Mercersburg area.

She was a member of Upton Full Gospel Church in Greencastle, Pa.

She is survived by three daughters, Marla M. Peck of Mercersburg and Karen B. Shannon and Jerle L. Peters, both of Chambersburg; six sons, Roy G. Peck Jr., Ronnie G. Peck, Gary H. Peck, Leslie L. Peck and Harlan H. Peck, all of Mercersburg, and Dennis R. Peck of Meyerstown, Pa.; 18 grandchildren; a step-grandchild; 24 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; two nieces; and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert G. Schooley.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, Mercersburg. The Revs. Gary A. Keefer and Shawn M. Peck will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg.

Visitation will be Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.




C. Roy Biesecker

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - C. Roy Biesecker, 89, of 8554 Wayne Highway, died Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at his home.

Born Nov. 10, 1912, in Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late Benjamin W. and Nora L. Talhelm Biesecker.

He attended Duffield School.

He was employed by Waynesboro Pattern Shop, then Goods Lumber in Quincy, Pa. Prior to retiring in 1978, he worked for Rotz's Lumber in Chambersburg, Pa.

He attended Brown's Mill Congregation of the Old German Baptist Church on Grindstone Hill Road.

He is survived by his wife of more than 66 years, Emma Saloma Benedict Biesecker; four daughters, Elinor A. Beckner and Jane M. Biesecker, both of Waynesboro, Barbara J. Beckner of Chambersburg and Susanne E. Wenger of Pleasant Hall, Pa.; a son, Roy B. Biesecker of Waynesboro; two sisters, Leola Myers of Waynesboro and Janet Bowen of Baltimore; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, G. Irene Hawbaker; a sister, Florence Smith; three brothers, Aaron Biesecker, Welty Biesecker and Jacob Biesecker; and two granddaughters.

Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Brown's Mill Congregation of the Old German Baptist Church. The Home Brethren will officiate. Burial will be in Hades Church Cemetery on Hades Church Road.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Mary R. Baugher

FREDERICK, Md. - Mary Rebecca Bidle Baugher, 94, formerly of 6603 S. Clifton Road, died Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at Citizens Nursing Home, Frederick.

Born Aug. 27, 1907, in Hawbottom, Md., she was the daughter of the late Charles Lewis and Margaret Rebecca Marken Bidle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lawson Baugher, in 1972.

She was a member of Braddock Lutheran Church where she had been the Sunday School superintendent and a Sunday School teacher.

She is survived by 10 children, Mary B. Miller, Grace Tyeryar, James Baugher, Robert Baugher, Janet E. Lewis and A. Margaret Cramer, all of Frederick, Betty Frushour of Wolfsville, Md., Ruby Fine of Middletown, Md., Darlene Cline of Hagerstown and Joyce Wickizer of Myersville, Md.; 36 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and 11 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlotte M. Baker; a son, Roy E. Baugher; and a grandson.

Services will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Middletown. The Rev. Kimberly Weitzel will officiate. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, Middletown. Visitation also will be Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at the church.

Frederick M. Cobb Jr.

BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT, Pa. - Frederick M. Cobb Jr., 85, of 13295 North Ave., died Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at Waynesboro Hospital, Waynesboro, Pa.

Born Dec. 19, 1916, in Wilmington, Del., he was the son of the late Frederick M. Cobb Sr. and Elizabeth S. Conway Cobb.

He was a 1935 graduate of Centerville High School in Centerville, Md.
