Area woman injured in scooter accident

A Boonsboro woman was injured Sunday afternoon when her motorized scooter collided with the rear of a car in the 200 block of North Main Street, Washington County Sheriff's deputies said.

Bonnie Hargett, 56, of Young Avenue, was flown by Maryland State Police medevac helicopter to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center shortly after the 1:25 p.m. accident.

Her condition Sunday night was good, according to a nursing supervisor at the Baltimore hospital.

Deputy Arnold Cerezo is investigating the incident.

Man who fell off ladder flown to trauma center

A man who fell from a ladder at 4437 Locust Grove Road Sunday morning was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center by Maryland State Police medevac helicopter, rescue officials said.


The man, who reportedly broke his leg, fell at 10:52 a.m. His name and condition were unavailable Sunday night.

Sunday crash sends Pa. driver to hospital

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - A Big Cove Tannery, Pa., man was in fair condition Sunday night at Memorial Hospital in Cumberland, Md., following a two-vehicle accident on Licking Creek Road in Fulton County.

Wallace Eugene Hann, 48, was flown from the 2:55 p.m. accident scene by Maryland State Police medevac helicopter.

He was the driver of an eastbound 1988 Toyota that collided with a westbound 1992 Plymouth Laser driven by Jason S. Schetrompf, 18, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., said Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg.

Schetrompf was alone in his vehicle. He was unhurt in the crash, police said.

Two passengers in the Toyota, Linda Jean Hann, 47, and Drew Payton Hann, 3, both of Big Cove Tannery, were not listed as patients at Memorial Hospital, a nursing supervisor in Cumberland said Sunday night.

The investigation into the accident is continuing.

Tractor parts stolen from John Deere dealer

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - The theft of a carburetor and two radiator caps from John Deere tractors at the McConnellsburg Motor and Implement Co. is being investigated by Pennsylvania State Police.

The items were taken between June 23-28 from the business located on U.S. 30.

Motorcyclist injured in Pa. accident

SPRING RUN, Pa. - A man was injured in a motorcycle accident Sunday afternoon in Fannett Township, Pa., but police did not release any information.

The accident happened at 2 p.m. in front of 20678 Spring Run Road West, according to Franklin County Emergency Services. The man was flown to a regional hospital.

Fannett-Metal Fire Department assisted at the scene but referred all questions to the Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg.

Police would not provide any information Sunday night.

Pa. motorist treated after car runs off road

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Shippensburg, Pa., woman was treated at Chambersburg Hospital after her car ran off the road Thursday morning, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Barbara Ann Britton, of Shippensburg, was traveling in a 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme at 1 a.m. when the car ran off Siloam Road near Airport Road in Greene Township, struck some small trees and went over an embankment, police said.

She was treated at Chambersburg Hospital, police said.

Chambersburg Emergency Medical Services, Chambersburg Fire Department and Chambersburg Police assisted at the scene.
