Dorothy E. McCleaf

Dorothy E. Frazer McCleaf, 86, of Avalon Manor Health Care Center in Hagerstown, and formerly of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., died Wednesday, June 26, 2002, at the nursing home.

Born Dec. 5, 1915, in Wheeling, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Arthur W. and Evalyn L. Meyers Frazer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce McCleaf, in 1973. They were married Jan. 12, 1935.

She attended Smithsburg High School.

She worked as a bookkeeper at Mountain Gate Family Restaurant in Thurmont, Md.

She attended Church of God.

She was a member of National AARP.

She is survived by two daughters, Lola L. Hand of Glen Burnie, Md., and Evalyn M. Henry of Hagerstown; one son, Mearl C. McCleaf of Blue Ridge Summit; two sisters, Betty J. Brown of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Mary S. Lobingier of Abbottstown, Pa.; two brothers, Paul Frazer of Gettysburg, Pa., and Benjamin Frazer of Dothan, Ala.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and her caregivers, Helen Parks and Shirley Stottlemyer.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Mellott and Margaret Frazer; and five brothers, Arthur W. Frazer Jr., Ronald M. Frazer, Robert J. Frazer, C. Lawrence Frazer and Frederick Frazer.

Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Germantown Church of God, Cascade. Pastor William Parks will officiate. Burial will follow in Bethel Church Cemetery, Cascade.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro, Pa.

Edna M. Robison

Edna Mae Robison, 97, of 11832 Linbar Drive, Hagerstown, and formerly of 115 Belview Ave., who died Tuesday, June 25, 2002, is survived by her caregivers with whom she lived, her daughter and son-in-law, Eileen and Harry Mullinix.




Gary L. Thompson

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. -Gary Lee Thompson, 51, of Prescott Valley, died Tuesday, June 25, 2002, at Verde Valley Medical Center, Cottonwood, Ariz.

Born May 27, 1951, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Anna K. Schlotterbeck Thompson Anderson of Prescott Valley, and the late Eldridge N. Thompson.

He was an auto mechanic, specializing in Volkswagens. He was skilled in auto body mechanics.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Lauren Thompson; three daughters, Shannon Thompson of Maryland, Corey A. Dodson of Tennessee, and Kelly Kain; one sister, Linda Imbleau of Chino Valley, Ariz.; two brothers, Al Thompson of Chino Valley, and David Anderson of Phoenix; and two grandchildren.

Services will be today at 10 a.m. at Hampton Funeral Home, Prescott, Ariz.




Anna P. Carter

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Anna P. Carter, 92, of Molers Crossroads, died Thursday, June 27, 2002, at Heartland of Martinsburg.

Born April 24, 1910, in Brunswick, Md., she was the daughter of the late Bertha Dixon and Adam R. Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob C. Carter, whom she married Dec. 20, 1930.

She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, Molers Crossroads, where she was assistant organist, secretary of the administrative board, president and secretary of United Methodist Women and taught a young adult Sunday school class.

She taught individual piano students.

She is survived by one sister, Louise Carter of Shepherdstown; one grandson, Kevin S. Carter of Shepherdstown; two great-grandchildren; and four nieces.

She was preceded in death by one son, Calvin R. Carter; and one brother, Randolph Thompson.

Services will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. Dr. Parker Hinzman will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Louise H. Bair

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Louise H. "Sis" Bair, 80, of 11501 Little Cove Road, died Wednesday, June 26, 2002, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.

Born Oct. 1, 1921, in Little Cove, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Chester T. and Gertrude R. Zimmerman Williams.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John V. Bair, in 1966.

She was a former employee of McCoy Electronics and Lowengart Tannery, both of Mercersburg. She was last employed by Mercersburg Market Place.

She was a member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church of Little Cove.

She is survived by one son, John R. Bair of Mercersburg; one sister, Gertrude M. Zeger of Mercersburg; one brother, Chester T. Williams Jr. of Greencastle, Pa.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy I. Williams.

Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Mount Zion Lutheran Church of Little Cove. Pastor Hank Mansell will officiate. Burial will be in Methodist Church Cemetery of Little Cove.

Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, Mercersburg; and Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the church.
