Consistency pays off in Envirothon

June 25, 2002

Consistency by the Clear Spring High School Envirothon team won a close competition for a state championship, team advisers Susan Lowery and Terrie Shank said. The Maryland Envirothon was held June 20 to 22 at the Harford Glen Environmental Center in Harford County.

The team will now represent the state in the international competition hosted by Massachusetts during a five-day event that begins July 29.

The state competition involved team competition in training and environmental activities. Eighteen teams competed. As members of the winning team, the Clear Spring High School students each received a $500 scholarship, team jackets and an all-expense-paid trip to the Massachusetts competition.
