Trying to balance a bag of clothes while riding a bicycle proved dangerous Sunday morning for a Hagerstown man who fell and hit his head on the concrete at Jonathan and Church streets, Hagerstown City Police said.

Thomas J. Flint, 52, was riding at 10:44 a.m. when witnesses told police he crashed the bicycle and hit his head. The witnesses said he was having difficulty with the load of clothes just before the accident.

No other vehicle was involved.

Community Rescue Service responded to the scene and took Flint to Washington County Hospital, police said.
