George F. Brigham

MYERSVILLE, Md. - George Frederick Brigham, 76, of Myersville, died Saturday, June 22, 2002, at his home.

Born Aug. 3, 1925, in Derwood, Md., he was the son of the late George L. and Bessie Carter Brigham.

He owned a construction company in Montgomery County, Md., for 20 years. He retired from Montgomery College in 1994 after 10 years of service.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy on the USS Savannah in the Atlantic fleet.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margie Henley Brigham; two daughters, Sharon Johnson of Wolfsville, and Catherine Crown of Hyattstown, Md.; three sons, George Brigham Jr. of Middletown, Md., Daniel Brigham of Frederick, Md., and Randy Brigham of Myersville; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruby Watkins, Annie Coleman and Ruth Harrison.

Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Myersville. The Rev. Randall Reid will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Ricketts Funeral Home, Myersville.

Margie L. Rudisill

Margie Louise Rudisill, 58, of Hagerstown, died Saturday, June 22, 2002, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Oct. 15, 1943, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Charles Martin and Ethel O. Wright Gossard.

She attended Rehoboth United Methodist Church, Williamsport.

She is survived by her husband, Edison L. Rudisill; one daughter, Lorie Rudisill; one son, Steven Rudisill; one sister, Virginia S. Leigh; five brothers, Melvin L. Gossard, Ralph M. Gossard, Clarence M. Gossard, James M. Gossard and Lester S. Gossard; one granddaughter and two stepgrandsons.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Nelson L. Gossard and Ronald C. Gossard.

Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, Hagerstown. The Rev. James Swecker will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

George J. Reichert Jr.

George Joseph Reichert Jr., 76, of 11 W. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, died Saturday, June 22, 2002, at his home.

Born Nov. 20, 1925, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of the late George J. Reichert Sr. and Martha Bucy Reichert.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946.

He is survived by two daughters, Sheree Hall and Sandy Reichert, both of Hagerstown; two sons, George J. Reichert III and Marty Reichert, both of Hagerstown; one sister, Pearl Martin of Waukeegee, Ill.; two brothers, Harry Reichert and Bobby Reichert, both of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his companion, Anna Marmaduke.

Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.

There will be no viewing.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 101 E. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, MD 21740; or American Red Cross, 113 S. Prospect St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown.




Ernest J. Veron

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Ernest J. Veron, 67, of Manor Care Health Services and 79 Eastern Ave., Apt. 5, Greencastle, Pa., died Friday, June 21, 2002, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born July 1, 1934, in Lutcher, La., he was the son of the late Jumonville Pierre and Bertha Brignac Veron.

He was a 1952 graduate of Lutcher High School.

He was employed as an electrician by Local Union 602.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1954 to 1956.

He was a member of Knights of Columbus while in Louisiana, and the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by four daughters, Mary F. Hill of Shreveport, La., Donna Waguespack of Lutcher, Margaret Pearce of Maringouin, La., and JoAnn Melancon of Loranger, La.; one son, Mark Veron of Pierreport, La.; four sisters, Estelle Weil of New Orleans, Odiele Brignac and Lorna Louque, both of Lutcher, and Jeanne Melancon of Harahan, La.; 15 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister.

A memorial service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Saint Mark Catholic Church, Greencastle. The Rev. Joseph L. Stahura will officiate.

Burial will be private.

Arrangements are by Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, Greencastle.




Thomas A. Grams Sr.

BOONSBORO -Thomas Arthur Grams Sr., 63, of Mapleville, died Saturday, June 22, 2002, at Washington County Hospital.

Born March 9, 1939, in Pondsville, he was the son of stepmother, Anna Mary Grams, the late Arthur Evers Grams and Mary Brunner, who raised him.

He was employed by Jamison Door Co. for 38 years, retiring in 2001.

He served in the U.S. Navy.
