Tri-State Jr. Tournament

The Tri-State Junior Golf Association Tournament held Monday at the Stonebridge Golf Club saw Tyler Ausherman, Sam Harrison and Michael Wade come away with age-group titles.

Leading the 12-13 age group with a score of 85 was Ausherman. Second place with 91 was Kyle Jordan, and Steven Hutzell placed third with a 94.

The 14-15 was won by Harrison with a 74. Drew Petrucci took second, Chad Bricker placed third, and Seth Moul came in fourth, all 77s.


In the 16-18, Wade won with a 75. Justin Hockman was second and Andrew Burke placed third with rounds of 77 each.


Halfway Minor League

UAW 10, Hagerstown Trust 9: Kat Bowers and Chris Kiley combined for 15 strikeouts for UAW.

Home Federal 15, FOP 12: Drew DeHaven had three hits and Nick Myers had two hits for Home Federal.

Hopewell 16, Carquest 5: Danny Fraser had three hits for Hopewell.

Home Federal 14, Hopewell 7: Drew Dehaven had two hits for Home Federal. Danny Frazier struck out eight for Hopewell.

Halfway Little League

Lions 15, Valley Storage Bins 8: James Knable and David Rhinecker had three hits each, Kyle Crist and Cameron Allen had two hits and Allen homered for the Lions. Mike Warrenfeltz had three hits while Danny Spickler and Austin Jones had two hits for Valley Storage Bins.

Maugansville Senior League

Larry Allen 13, Shawley's 11: Daniel Zamora had four hits while Chris Baker, Brian Barnhart and Tommy Garrett had two hits for Larry Allen. Jimmy Conner, Michael Creeden, Tyler Harden and Brett Toms had two hits for Shawley's. Toms homered.

Maugansville Little League

Homecare Pharmacy 15, Burkholders 4: Aaron Mills had three hits, including a home run, and six RBI, Derek Keener had three hits and both Adam Repp and Kolby Martin had two hits for Homecare. With this win, Homecare won the league title.

American Little League

Goodwill 5, Thompson's Concrete 4: Justin Clark had two hits for Goodwill.

FOP 20, Eagles 1: Justin Myers had four hits while Gerald Tonsil and Andrew Likely had two hits for FOP.

Conococheague Minor League

Neikirk's 18, Shawley's 8: Matt Kelly had four hits while Devon Byrd, Trey Hanna and Tyler Hebert had two hits for Neikirk's. Steven Clavette had two hits for Shawley's.

Valley Little League

St. Lawrence Cement 14, Post 211 7: Alex Akers hads two hits and four RBI, Zane Garver had two hits and two RBI and Jason Kendal, Daniel Rishell and Michael Rishell each had two hits for St. Lawrence. Ian Hobbs had two hits for Post 211.

Wash. Co. Cal Ripken

Lions Club 12, Mace Auto 3: Korey Walker, Chris Blickenstaff had three hits, including a home run for Blickenstaff, to lead Lions. Jacob Gouff, Josh Conway, Tim Peake, Tyler Burgan and Bryant Giddich added two hits. Jeremy Boyd and Ishmel Perez had two hits for Mace's.

West End Little League

Moose 5, VFW 1: J.J. O'Neill threw a three-hitter with eight strikeouts, and also had two hits, including a home run, while Demeatric Scott and Dyllon Baker each had two hits for Moose. Jodi McElroy had two hits for VFW.

South Mountain Little League

Pete's 6, Lions 1: C.W. Wollard, Matt Hutzell and Tyler Fath each had two hits while Fath threw a two-hitter with 15 strikeouts for Pete's.

Colt League

Hagerstown Eagles 10, Henson's 0: Jamie Mullenix and Domonic Christian had two hits for Eagles.

Senior Interleague

Jeter Paving 8, SAL 1: Jim Harman hit a three-run homer and Mike Fox pitched a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts for Jeter.

National Little League

UAW 23, Antietam 16: Tyler Brown had four hits for UAW. Michael Gainer and Logan Appel each had two hits, including a home run, for Antietam.

Funkstown Legion 5, AMVETS 3: Brad Kennedy struck out 11 for Funkstown Legion. J.R. Murray had a three-hitter for AMVETS.

Funkstown Legion 10, AMVETS 0: Steven Mills threw a two-hitter, striking out nine, and Allen Barnett had three hits for Funkstown Legion.

Hagerstown PONY League

Hagerstown Floors 8, Firefighters 6: Josh Light had two hits, Cory Baker had two home runs, including the game winner, for Hagerstown Floors. Nick Roberts had two hits and Tyler Shifler and Harrison Hammond both homered for Firefighters.


Hub City Softball

Shooters 32, Coors Light 16: Brent Raley, Buck Chrisman, Pork Wallech, Rick Ricker, Scott Coutler and Jeff Ruppenthal each had four hits, Kenny Kirby had two home runs and Wallech, Ricker and Tommy McClintock homered once for Shooters.

Burhan Station 18, Merlins 6: Dewey Whitmore, Todd Grimes, Steve Alton and Bink Eichelberger each had three hits, and Whitmore and Sickey Jenkins each had a home run for Burhan Station.

Century 21 30, Stadium 23: Mel Weaver, Steve Ebberts, Brad Moore and Bob Tritch all had five hits, Mick Byers, Lou Thomas and Jeff Schlotterbeck each had four hits, Weaver hit two home runs, and Brad Weaver, Ebberts and Thomas each homered once for Century 21.

Hagerstown Church Softball

Williamsport Assembly of God 16, Crossroads 12: Ryan Householder had four hits, Mike Marks and Matt Werry each added three hits and Mike Trumpower had three hits, including a homer, for Williamsport.

Gateway 32, Christ Lutheran 20: Jeff Burnett, Kevin Hose, Tim Hose, Frank Yost all homered for Gateway.

Tri-State Fellowship 19, Nazarene 18: Howie Metger had three hits to lead Tri-State.


Funkstown 4, Williamsport 3: Nate Steelman (6-0) picked up the win relief and Phillip Powell was 3-for-3 for Funkstown (21-4, 13-1 in Mid Maryland). Josh Bowers was 3-for-3 for Williamsport.
