HCC Foundation elects officers

June 17, 2002

The Hagerstown Community College Foundation Inc. held its annual meeting June 6, and elected new officers for 2002-2003.

Officers for the upcoming year are Michael Morrell, president; Julie Donat, vice president; Roger Fairbourn, secretary; and William Fritts II, treasurer.

Directors include Deborah Addo, Tracy Bage, Louis Barlup Jr., William Barton, Leon Brumback, Art Callaham, Stacey Chaney, Dr. Max Creager, Carol Engstrom, Charles Groh, Donald Harsh Jr., Rebecca Jones, Helen Kreykenbohm, Paula Lampton, Pete Low, Marlene Shank, Marvin Shubert, Robert Smith, Gerald Spessard and Jean Woods. The appointed trustee representative is Margaret Hetzer. The representative for the alumni is Brenda Hassinger and representative for faculty is Spring Ward. Members Emeriti are Dr. Atlee Kepler and William King Jr. Ex-officio members are Dr. Guy Altieri, Lieba Cohen and Carolyn Cox.

The HCC Foundation was established in 1968 to assist the college in its mission of being a comprehensive open-door educational institution. For the 2001-2002 academic year, the foundation awarded nearly $200,000 in scholarship assistance. Kepler, along with retiring president Norman Shea and incoming president Guy Altieri attended the evening's activities.
