Thomas J. Altman

Thomas Jacob Altman, 95, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare Center of Hagerstown.

Born March 1, 1907, in Frederick County, Md., he was the son of the late George Peter and Mary Malinda Wachter Altman.

He retired from Pangborn Corp. in Hagerstown, after 23 years of employment. Earlier, he was employed by the Ford Motor Co. in Detroit; and then Glenn L. Martin Co. in Baltimore, during World War II.

He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Hagerstown.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Lee Altman.

Private services and burial were held at Utica Cemetery, near Frederick.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Building Fund, 601 Washington Ave., Hagers-town, MD 21740.

Bruce R. Boden

Bruce R. Boden, 80, of Hagerstown, died Thursday, June 13, 2002, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

Born Oct. 21, 1921, in Allegany, Md., he was the son of the late Frank and Emma Robison Boden.

He retired from Mack Trucks in 1981, after 20 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Elva Morse Boden; two daughters, Nancy Boden of Michigan and Janet Boden of Myersville, Md.; two sons, Eddie Boden of Clear Spring and Robert Boden of Hagerstown; four sisters, Mildred Snow of Hancock, Regina Ward of Clearville, Pa., and Ruth Spangler and Leona Austermiller, both of Ohio; two brothers, Ralph Boden of Indian Springs and Merle Boden of Ohio; and one grandson.

He was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.

Services will be Tuesday at noon at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, Hagerstown. Paster Bill L. Clear will officiate. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery

The family will receive friends Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral chapel.

Orpha L. Quinn

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Orpha Louise Quinn, 89, of Tuscawilla Hills, died Saturday, June 15, 2002, at Shenandoah Health Village Center, Charles Town.

Born Oct. 19, 1912, in Jefferson, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Louise Champlain Franklin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Powell Quinn Sr., on June 9, 2001.

She was a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, N.Y.

She had been a dietitian for the Vestal Center, N.Y., School System.

She was a member of Zion Episcopal Church in Charles Town.

She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star 128 of Charles Town; and Jefferson County Home Extension Club.

She is survived by one daughter, Gail Smith of Vestal Center; two sons, George F. Quinn of Charles Town and Robert C. Quinn of Kearneysville, W.Va.; one sister, Elsie Lucas of Oxnard, Calif.; one brother, George Franklin of Endwell, N.Y.; four granddaughters; five grandsons; two great-granddaughters; six great-grandsons; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by one son, Glenn P. Quinn Jr.; one sister, Olive Secor; and one great-grandson.

A memorial service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Zion Episcopal Church, Charles Town. The Revs. John Bower and Eric Farel will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg, W.Va.

There will be no visitation.

Nellie J. Decker

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Nellie Jane Decker, 88, of Martinsburg, died Friday, June 14, 2002, at Heartland of Martinsburg.

Born May 5, 1914, in Scrabble, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late George M. and Annabelle Tabler Kemp.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Victor Decker.

She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She is survived by two daughters, Juanita A. Everly of Mount Airy, N.C., and Dana L. Sanchez of Etters, Pa.; one son, Philip K. Decker of Martinsburg; one sister, Elsie Molar of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth LeMaster; and one brother, William Kemp.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Martinsburg. Bishop David Albright will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.




Margie L. Barron

INWOOD, W.Va. - Margie Louise Barron, 57, of Inwood, died Thursday, June 13, 2002, at City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Oct. 18, 1944, in Hillsboro, Va., she was the daughter of the late Ira James and Margie Lucille Nuce Cogle.

She was a telemarketer for ICT Group Inc.
