W.Va. men facing drug charges

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Four Martinsburg residents were arrested this week on charges contained in an indictment by a Federal Grand Jury in Martinsburg the week of June 4, 2002.

U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Johnston said Eric V. Banks, also known as Jobie Banks, also known as Jobie Green, 27, of 1403 Loweland Drive, Martinsburg; Cavin A. Green, 21, also of 1403 Loweland Drive, Martinsburg; Troy J. Green, 29, of 1403 Loweland Drive, Martinsburg, and Willie J. Lockett Jr, also known as "Chill Will," 29, of Martinsburg, were arrested on charges contained in a 13-count drug indictment.

Count one of the indictment alleges that Banks, Cain A. Green, Troy J. Green and Lockett conspired to distribute in excess of 50 grams of cocaine, also known as "crack," from 1993 to June 2002, within the Northern District of West Virginia.

Each of the men was named in additional counts, according to a news release issued by the U.S. Attorney's office.

Troy J. Green, who was arrested on June 9, 2002, had his initial appearance on June 10, 2002, before U.S. Magistrate Judge David J. Joel in Martinsburg and was released on bond.

Banks and Cavin A. Green, who were arrested on June 11, 2002, has their initial appearances on June 11, 2002, before Magistrate Judge Joel and were released on bond.

Lockett, who was arrested on June 12, 2002, will have his initial appearance on June 14, 2002, before United States Magistrate Judge James E. Seibert in Martinsburg at 8:50 a.m.
