Q: What kinds of summer school programs are being offered by the Washington

County Public Schools?

A: The Washington County Public Schools will offer a traditional high school "summer school" as well as middle and elementary summer programs. Summer school for high school students will be held June 24-Aug. 1 at South Hagerstown High School from 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday - Thursday. Most general high school courses are available. All middle schools have extended year programs. For information, call your child's school.

Elementary schools have summer school programs focusing on specific grade levels, primarily for students who are working below grade level in reading and who were recommended by their teachers. For information, call your child's elementary school.
