The Pottses

Bill and Joan (Hull) Potts celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, May 11, 2002, at a dinner/dance at the clubhouse in Majestic Park Homes Inc., in Seminole, Fla., where they have lived since retiring in 1994. The event was attended by their son, Joe Potts, and his wife Billye of New Orleans and more than 50 friends from the Park and St. Petersburg, Fla.

Mr. and Mrs. Potts were married May 9, 1952, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hagerstown.

Mr. Potts was employed by Fairchild and the I.B.E.W., local 307, in Cumberland, Md.

Mrs. Potts was employed by Sears, Roebuck and Co., in Hagerstown and by several banks before retiring.

The Maucks

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mauck of Hagerstown were honored at a surprise party celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary Saturday, April 27, 2002, at Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Hagerstown. The event was hosted by their daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Ken Hammond of Hagerstown, and was attended by family and friends.


The Maucks received many cards and gifts. A three-tiered anniversary cake was served.

Robert Mauck and Mildred Martin were married April 19, 1942, at Christ Reformed Church in Hagerstown by the Rev. Festerman.

Mrs. Mauck is a homemaker.

Mr. Mauck served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. He retired from The Herald-Mail Company and the John R. Oliver Co. He also has served as a deacon in several Baptist churches.

The Maucks have six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The Snyders

Mr. and Mrs. Lester Snyder of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, June 1, 2002.

They were honored at a dinner party Saturday, May 25, at Ralph and Maria's Restaurant, hosted by their children and spouses, Steven and Sonda Snyder of Hagerstown and Phillip and Robin Snyder Vogel of Lancaster, Texas.

The Snyders were married June 1, 1952, by the Rev. Knibb at Beaver Creek Christian Church.

Mrs. Snyder is the former Virginia Paulsgrove. She was employed by Friendly Ice Cream before her retirement.

Prior to his retirement, Mr. Snyder was employed by Central Parking Company and Hagerstown Trust for more than 40 years.
