Josephine A. Guyer

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -Josephine A. Guyer, 84, of 749 E. Washington St., died Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at her home.

Born May 8, 1918, in Orbisonia, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John and Effie McClure Bilger.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Guyer, in 1982.

She was a homemaker.

She was a Protestant.

She is survived by three daughters, Joanne Orndorff of Shippensburg, Pa., Nancy Mozingo of Chambersburg and Linda Murray of Fayetteville, Pa.; three sons, Raymond P. Guyer Jr. of St. Thomas, Pa., Theodore Guyer of Chambersburg and Rodney Guyer of Shippensburg; two sisters, Hazel Potts of Dillsburg, Pa. and Pauline Skipper of North Carolina; 24 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Chambersburg. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.




Edna R. Richards

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. -Edna Ruth Wink Richards, 73, of 1217 Crossroads Road, died Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at her home.

Born Sept. 12, 1928, in Needmore, Pa., she was the daughter of the late George Morton and Eliza Mellott Wink.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill Eugene Richards, in 1997.

She worked at Sagner as a seamstress.

She is survived by one daughter, Annette K. Henderson of McConnellsburg; two sons, Hiram E. Richards of Shippensburg, Pa., and Hayes L. Richards of McConnellsburg; two granddaughters; one niece and four nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Cito United Methodist Church. The Rev. Donald Bard will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, McConnellsburg, which will open at 2 p.m.




Estella C. Morris

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Estella Caroline Morris, 89, of Berkeley Springs, and formerly of Summersville, W.Va., died Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at her home.

Born Aug. 29, 1912, in Clay County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Harrison and Elizabeth McCraken Rogers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George William Morris, in 1998.

She retired as a restaurant employee.

She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Berkeley Springs.

She is survived by one daughter, Etta J. Davis of Berkeley Springs; one son, James D. Morris of Huntingdon, Pa.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one brother, the Rev. Charles A. Rogers.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel, Summersville. The Rev. David Sommerville will officiate. Burial will follow in West Virginia Memorial Gardens in Calvin, W.Va.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements were made by Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs.




Donald H. Young

Donald Herbert Young, 75, of 110 E. Magnolia Ave., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Oct. 21, 1926, in Rohrersville, he was the son of the late Ernest Edward and Margaret Keedy Young.

He was a 1945 graduate of Boonsboro High School, and a 1946 graduate of Hagerstown Business College.

He was a former partner with Rodger Botti of D. Ramacciotti from 1948 to 1967. He retired from Farmers and Merchants Bank in 1988.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and sang in the choir.

He was a member of BPO Elks Lodge 378; United Commercial Travelers 311, Williamsport American Legion Post 202; a former member and past president of Alsatia Club; a former member of Funkstown Lions Club; Cumberland Valley Chorusters; and Rohrersville Band.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Louise Botti Young, one brother, Joe A. Young of Middletown, Md.; two nieces; two nephews; 10 great-nieces and great-nephews; and one great-great-nephew.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, E. Keedy Young and David A. Young Sr.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown. The Rev. Quentin J. Fleming will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 15 Randolph Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21740.




Elizabeth L. Edwards

LAUREL, Md. - Elizabeth Lee Edwards, 64, of Laurel, died Monday, June 3, 2002.

Born Oct. 11, 1937, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Homer G. and Thelma A. Dick Spitzer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Milton Edwards.

She was a 1955 graduate of Howard High School, Laurel.

She retired as an executive secretary from the Baltimore/Washington Conference of United Methodist Churches.

She was of the Methodist faith.
