Brianna N. Crawford

Brianna Nichole Crawford, infant daughter of Ronald Ray Crawford Jr. and Terra Nichole Spessard, of 602 N. Potomac Ave., Hagerstown, was born and died Thursday, May 30, 2002, at Washington County Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by one half-brother, Alexander Lee Gless of Hagerstown; her maternal grandfather, David A. Spessard III of Hagerstown; paternal grandmother, Lorinda M. Bates Crawford of Hagerstown; paternal grandfather, Ronald R. Crawford Sr. of Hagerstown; maternal great-grandparents, Richard and Ravenna Kline of Hagerstown; paternal great-grandmother, Edith Bates of Uniontown, Pa.; and paternal great-grandfather, Alvin Crawford of Kingwood, W.Va.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are by Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown.




Reginald G. Rogers

Reginald Gary "Heavy" Rogers, 34, of 118 Randolph Ave. in Hagers-town, died Saturday, June 1, 2002, at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore.

Born April 23, 1968, in Portsmouth, Va., he was the son of the late Albert Williams and Marjorie Rogers.

He was employed by Goodwill Industries and Maryland Ribbon Co.

He attended Gateway Ministries.

He is survived by his wife of five years, Tessa Denise Rogers; one son, Markie R. Rogers, at home; his cousin, Darlene Archie of Portsmouth, who raised him; and a grandmother, Catherine Jones of Portsmouth.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Kashara L. Rogers.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown. The Rev. Mark A. Brandau will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Evelyn V. Wilson

Evelyn Virginia Wilson, 92, of 12 S. Walnut St., Hagerstown, died Saturday, June 1, 2002, at Beverly Health Care Center.

Born Nov. 30, 1909, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late George Enos Ford and Edith Nusz Ford Simmonds.

Her husband, Russell Ernest Wilson Sr., died in 1984.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Russell E. Wilson Jr. of Hagers-town; one brother, William A. Simmonds of Virginia; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, James M. Wilson; four sisters; one brother, and one grandchild.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Lester L. Sherman

BOONSBORO - Lester L. Sherman, 82, of Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home Apartments, died Monday, June 3, 2002, at Washington County Hospital.

Born April 15, 1920, in Moorefield, W.Va., he was the son of the late Abraham J. and Emma Woerner Sherman.

He was a 1939 graduate of Allegany High School, and a graduate of Catherman's Business School in Cumberland.

He was employed by Commercial Savings Bank and Liberty Trust Bank, both in Cumberland; and National Bank in Wheaton, Md., where he retired in 1982 as vice president and senior trust officer.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a prisoner of war.

He was a member of Cresaptown Methodist Church, and attended Fahrney-Keedy Chapel.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge 131, Cumberland.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth T. Sherman, whom he married July 25, 1941; one daughter, Gail F. Dennis of Keedysville; one son, Richard Sherman of Danville, Va.; two sisters, Edna Sarver of Cresaptown, and Ludell Stewart of Frederick, Md.; one brother, Ray K. Sherman of Fredericksburg, Va.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Dora Chappel.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, Boonsboro. The Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate. Burial will be in Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, near Flintstone, Md., at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Gloria L. Harris

Gloria Louise Harris, 69, of 14014 Marsh Pike, died Sunday, June 2, 2002, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Oct. 27, 1932, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Charles L. Miner and Eleanor Bowen Miner Cross.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt Harris.

She was employed by Hagers-town Laundry.

She attended Greenbrier Baptist Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Darlene White and Earlene Noel, both of Baltimore, and Jean Volcy of Hagerstown; six sons, Charles Miner of Baltimore, and Tyrone Miner, Robert Snowden, Louis Johnson, Doug Miner and Steven Harris, all of Hagerstown; two sisters, Martha Smith and Josephine Tranyham, both of Baltimore; 26 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
