cheer squads is Aug. 31.

The hosting organization is D&D Wildcats Football Cheerleaders, members of the Cumberland Area Youth Football League and 6th to 8th grade students in the Westmar School District.

The competition will feature three-minute performances by scores of pee-wee; youth/middle/junior high school; frosh/high school junior varsity; high school varsity; and college/university cheer squads. The competition will be judged by certified judges from a national cheerleader association and there will be trophies, awards, cash prizes, concessions, commentating, television coverage, posting of scores, spirit and fan awards, and an exhibition dance by D&D Wildcats Cheerleaders.

Squads in counties in Western Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia are eligible. This is a roster competition; all-star squads will not be considered for registration.
