Hilda M. Baker

Hilda Mae Baker, 82, of 18005 Par Three Drive, Hagerstown, who died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, was the daughter of the late Harry Hyde and Ida Mae Shrader Semler.




Brent E. Hahn

Brent Eugene Hahn, 60, of 1601 Dual Highway in Hagerstown, who died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, is survived by two nieces.




Jane K. Kriner

Jane Katherine Kriner, 89, of 124 Stanford Road, Hagerstown, who died Thursday, May 30, 2002, was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

Edward E. Martz

BOONSBORO - Edward E. "Gene" Martz, 82, of Charlotte's Home, died Saturday, May 25, 2002, at Washington County Hospital.

Born in Mount Lena, Nov. 30, 1919, he was the son of the late George W. and Carrie E. Green Martz.

He was employed by Pangborn Corp. Department 12, retiring in 1981, after 30 years of service.

He is survived by a friend, Verona M. Crim of Martinsburg, W.Va.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ted Martz.

Services will be private.




Russell L. Rhinehart

Russell L. Rhinehart, 67, of Hagerstown, died Monday, May 27, 2002, at his home.

Born in Hagerstown, March 16, 1935, he was the son of the late David P. and Glendora Long Rhinehart.

He is survived by his wife, Carol E. Rhinehart, whom he married Dec. 15, 1968; five children; four stepchildren; four step-grandchildren; and a step-great-granddaughter.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.




June T. Shafer

MIDDLETOWN, Md. - June T. Shafer, 73, of 204 W. Main St., died Thursday, May 30, 2002, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Born June 6, 1928, in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late Dale Edgar and Velma Opal Crone Thomas.

Her husband, Charles J. Shafer, died Jan. 18, 2000.

She was employed by the Frederick County Board of Education in the cafeteria of Middletown Elementary School until her retirement.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Middletown.

She is survived by a daughter, Dixie Lee Eichelberger of Middletown; a son, Joe Shafer of Middletown; two half-brothers, James Thomas of Walkersville, Md., and Michael Thomas of Middletown; and two grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Middletown. The Rev. Donald L. Turley will officiate. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home in Middletown, which will be open all day Monday for the convenience of friends and family. There also will be a viewing Tuesday at the church one hour prior to services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund, 107 W. Main St., Middletown, MD 21769.




Joseph H. Sanders

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Joseph H. "Joe" Sanders, 47, of 7500 Molly Pitcher Hwy., Lot 18, died Thursday, May 30, 2002, at his home.

Born Feb. 16, 1955, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of Clarence R. Sanders of New Port Richey, Fla., and the late Patricia Ann Gelsinger Sanders.

He attended Chambersburg schools.

He was employed as a custodian by the Shippensburg School District.

He was a member of Mount Rock Brethren in Christ Church in Shippensburg.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Catherine E. "Cathy" Friese Sanders, whom he married Oct. 18, 1976; two sons, Joseph H. Sanders Jr. and Christian A. Sanders, both at home; a brother, Clarence R. Sanders of Dover, Pa.; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda S. Sanders.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at Mount Rock Brethren in Christ Church, Shippensburg. Pastor Lloyd Zimmerman will officiate.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:30 to 7 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Good Shepherd, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Arrangements are by Cumberland Valley Crematorium of Waynesboro, Pa.




Virginia G. Jones

FORT LOUDON, Pa. - Virginia Gray Jones, 85, of 3411 Path Valley Road, died Friday, May 31, 2002, at Chambersburg Hospital in Chambersburg, Pa.

Born July 12, 1916, in East Waterford, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Mac and Flora Flood Gray.

Her husband, Leslie W. Jones, whom she married May 17, 1937, died in 1984.

She was a graduate of Lewistown High School.

She retired in 1983 from Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg.

She was a member of Carrick United Methodist Church in Metal, Pa., where she was a member of the Ladies' Aide Society.

She was a member of Martha Custis Chapter 342 Order of the Eastern Star in Chambersburg.

She is survived by a daughter, Darlene J. Hannon of Fort Loudon.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Anita Leslie Jones, and two infant children; two sisters, Bessie Iva Parnell and Margaret Park; and three brothers, Forrest J. Gray, John J. Gray and Robert G. Gray.

Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home in Chambersburg. Darwin Goshorn and the Rev. William Bair will officiate. Burial will be in Carrick United Methodist Church Cemetery in Metal.
