Roundup - FCC reaches Division II World Series final

MILLINGTON, Tenn. - Frederick rallied from a 6-2 deficit to defeat Parkland 9-8 and advance to the championship of the NJCAA Division II World Series on Wednesday.

Nate Miller picked up the win in relief, allowing two runs in four innings. Mark Campbell and Corie O'Bryan each had three hits and Brent Myers had three RBI for Frederick (36-7).

Frederick plays the winner of Parkland CC/Northern Oklahoma-Enid tonight at 7:30.

Williamsport 4, Frederick 1

FREDERICK, Md. - Jason Embly scattered four hits over six innings as Williamsport Post 202 opened Western Maryland District play with a win over Frederick at Harry Grove Stadium.


Embly (3-0) allowed just one unearned run while walking one and striking out one. Nick Adenhart pitched the seventh to get the save.

Keith Kellinger hit a two-run homer and Adam McAllister and Adam Mills each had two hits for Williamsport (8-2, 1-0).

Dan Leatherman went the distance for Post 11, striking out seven.

Commonwealth Office Systems 13, Spichers 3: Daniel Jacobs had three hits and Guido Roche and Nick Clements had two hits each for Commonwealth.

Valley Little League

St. Lawrence Cement 13, Total Lube 8: Michael Rishell had two hits and four RBI, Alex Akers had two hits and two RBI, Jason Kendall and Ryne Willard each had two hits and Steven Hines had two RBI for St. Lawrence. Jovann Carter had two hits, inculding a home run, and two RBI while Drew McMurtrie had two RBI for Total Lube.

Hagerstown PONY League

Jeter Paving 8, Firefighters 5: Conrad Meyers and David Plank combined on a four-hitter with 11 strikeouts and Plank had two hits for Jeter. Matt Byers had two hits and Logan Miller struck out 10 for Firefighters.

F&M 15, Goodwill 1: Derek Wallaston and Matt Murray each had two hits, including a home run, Matt Stevens and Kyle Kane each had two hits and Bink Snowden and Keith King each homered for F& M. Ryan Cheney had two hits for Goodwill.

Conococheague Minor League

Reid's Elevator 10, Yankees 0: Zachary Lucas striking out 10, allowing two hits, and Zachary Clark and Scott Drury each had two hits for Reid's. Matt Baer had both hits for the Yankees.

Byers' Market 11, Post 202 5: Casey McKenrick pitched a complete game and both Brian Kinzer and Dustin Starliper had two hits for Byers'. T.J. McCartney hit two home runs while Garrett Hamby and Travis Kelley each had two hits for Post 202.

Conococheague Junior League

Redmen 14, Elks 4: Austin Barkdoll and John Staley each had four hits while Jesse Mason and John Combs each had two hits for Redmen. Mike Edwards had two hits for Elks.

Homestyle Laundry 13, Mace Auto Body 3: Jared Ferguson hit a grand slam while Jacob Ross went 3-for-4 for Homestyle. Jacob Steich had two hits for Mace.

Sharpsburg Little League

Chase Construction 6, Lions Club 2: Tyler Marshall and Jacob Pendergraft combined for a one-hitter and 10 strikeouts while Dwayne Washko had two hits for Chase.

South Mountain Little League

Post 10 5, Lions 3: Luke Michael and Adam Chambers had two hitsfor Post 10.

West End Little League

Elks 4, Stags 3: Tim Leather pitched a three-hittter with 12 strikoutswhile Jake Turner had two RBI and Chris Jackson had two hits for Stags.

West End Minor League

Western Enterprise 12, St. Lawrence 8: Nick Breeden had three hits, including a home run, and Andrew Peterson and Cameron Cross each had two hits for Western Enterprise. Brad Smith had three hits and Zach Hoovermill hit an inside-the-park home run for St. Lawrence.

Federal Little League

Lions 12, Exchange 1: John Courtney had four hits while Tyler Hornbecker and Preston Button had two hits each for Lions. Kevin Barnhart had two hits and Kevin Breslin hit a home run for Exchange.

Junior Interleague

Cavetown 15, Sycamore 2: Luke Kerr had eight strikeouts while Matt Rhoderick and Justin Calandrelle both had four hits for Cavetown. Kevin Tyler had two hits for Sycamore.

National 7-8

Funkstown Legion 14, UAW 6: Brett Barr had three hits an six RBI while Ryan Butts had three hits for Funkstown. Tyler Brown and Josh Miller both had two hits for UAW.

National Little League

Long Meadow Exxon 8, Paul Crampton Contractors 6: Brittany Hyatt and Bobby Marks had three hits for Long Meadow. Adrian Adams homered for Crampton.

Clear Spring Little League

Orioles 10, Reds 0: Cody McCarthy pitched a two-hitter with nine strikeouts and had two hits, including a home run, for the Orioles.

Maugansville Little League

Burkholders 13-4, Ruritan 3-1: Kyle Walters pitched a three-hitter, Corey Morgan had two hits and five RBI and Gary Sims had two hits for Burkholders in the first game.
