LAKEWOOD, N.J. - Julian Benavidez hit a two-out RBI single in the 11th inning Saturday to help the Hagerstown Suns complete a 5-3 comeback victory over the Lakewood BlueClaws.

Lakewood held a 3-0 lead after four innings, but the Suns (24-26) chipped away an tied the game with a run in the ninth en route to their fourth straight victory.

Kevin Alexander led off the ninth with single before reliever James Mayfield was lifted from the game for Matt Squires (3-4).

Squires issued a one-out walk to Branden Florence, leading to Tyler Von Schell's RBI double down the left field line to tie the score at 3-3.

Reliever Alberto Montes (2-2) came on in the ninth and got the win by keeping the Suns in position to win the game by striking out five in two innings of work.

Alexander again started the rally in the 11th by drawing a walk and moving to second on Julio Cordido's sacrifice bunt. Then, with two outs, Squires walked Von Schell.

Benavidez followed with his RBI single to score Alexander with the go-ahead run. When the throw to the plate failed, catcher Daniel Tosco fired a throw intended to get Von Schell at third base into left field to allow the insurance run to score.

Ryan Meaux allowed a hit in the ninth but coaxed a game-ending double play to notch his eighth save.

Lakewood (24-25) scored two runs in the third and another in the fourth off starter Julion Pavon. Denny Gonzalez and Ryan Howard had RBI hits in the third and Erick Rivera's infield single in the fourth got the 3-0 lead.

Benavidez got an RBI single off starter Gavin Floyd in the fifth and Von Schell added a run-scoring single in the seventh off Mayfield to get the Suns within 3-2.
