Street construction

May 28, 2002

On Wednesday and Thursday, drivers through downtown Hagerstown could experience traffic congestion in some areas as lanes are closed or shifted for construction work.

Traffic will be shifted and parking restricted on West Franklin Street and West Washington Street between Walnut Street and Potomac Street.

At times, traffic on Prospect Street, Jonathan Street and Walnut Street will be reduced to one 10-foot-wide lane.

Workers on the $1.6 million streetscape project will be cutting pavement and sidewalks in those areas.

No work will be done Monday, Tuesday or Friday.
