Pa. man charged with aggravated assault

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Greene Township man has been charged with aggravated indecent assault in the five-month abuse of a female juvenile, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Ray Orville Wright, 50, of 2230 Letterkenny Road, also was charged with indecent assault and corruption of a minor, police said.

The assaults are alleged to have taken place in Greene Township between Jan. 1 and May 14, police said.

Motorcyclist injured after collision in Pa.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A truck and motorcycle collided Wednesday morning, sending one man to the hospital, Chambersburg Police said.

Donald Weatherly, 36 N. Broad St., Waynesboro, Pa., was traveling west on U.S. 30 and attempted to turn across the eastbound lanes of traffic and onto the entrance ramp of southbound Interstate 81, police said.


Weatherly told police he did not see an approaching eastbound motorcycle before the motorcycle collided with the right rear of his 1997 GMC truck, police said.

The collision threw the driver of the motorcycle, Tony Bowman, of 7629 Cumberland Circle, St. Thomas, Pa., to the pavement, police said.

Bowman was treated at Chambersburg Hospital and released, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Police investigating two-vehicle accident

SANDY HOOK - Maryland State Police investigated a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 340 at Md. 67 Thursday morning.

The accident, involving two pickup trucks, was on the Frederick/Washington County line, state police said.

Man injured when farm tractor topples

WOODSBORO, Md. - A Woodsboro, Md., man was flown by helicopter to Washington County Hospital on Thursday after a farming accident.

A farm tractor rolled over, pinning the man's lower leg, said Maryland State Police.

His injuries were not life threatening, police said.

The Frederick County Sheriff's Department investigated the 7 p.m. incident, but further details were unavailable Thursday night.
