Some council members support moratorium

May 22, 2002

A majority of Hagerstown City Council members said Tuesday they would support a moratorium on allowing buildings to be converted into more than two living units.

Councilman Kristin B. Aleshire suggested such a moratorium during the Tuesday meeting of the mayor and council.

Council members Lewis C. Metzner and Penny May Nigh said they also support the idea.

City Administrator Bruce Zimmerman said he will plan to have the matter on the council agenda for the June 4 meeting.
