Q: Which test should a student take for college admission purposes - ACT or SAT?

A: Students should explore the colleges they are interested in and see what the colleges request or require. The ACT is preferred by many colleges in the Midwest and South. Colleges in other places will accept the ACT but may prefer the SAT. The SAT is preferred by primarily colleges in the East and West. For example, many colleges and universities in West Virginia prefer the ACT while most colleges and universities in Maryland favor the SAT.
