Mary E. Tosten

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Mary E. Miller Tosten, 77, a resident of Manorcare Health Services, and formerly of 9 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, Pa., died Sunday, May 19, 2002, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Oct. 25, 1924, in Antrim Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harry R. and Daisy V. Coldsmith Miller.

Her husband, Junior Theodore Tosten, died Aug. 17, 1997. They were married July 10, 1969.

She attended Brown's Mill School in Kauffman Station, Pa.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Greencastle Baptist Church.

She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of Rescue Hose Co. 1, Greencastle.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna F. Runshaw and Deborah L. Carty, both of Chambersburg; one son, Randy J. Runshaw of Chambersburg; three sisters, Irene Barbuzanes of Greencastle, Betty Myers of State Line, Pa., and Doris Stotler of Chambersburg; two brothers, Robert H. Miller and Charles R. Miller, both of Greencastle; four grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by one sister, Frances McDonald; and one brother, Harry R. Miller.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, Greencastle. The Rev. David F. Rasmussen will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Robert L. Shoop Sr.

Robert L. Shoop Sr., 79, of 20702 Jefferson Blvd., Hagerstown, died Friday, May 17, 2002, at Washington County Hospital.

Born May 14, 1923, in Washington County, he was the son of the late Edgar R. and Ruby E. Moser Shoop.

He worked for the Washington County Board of Education maintenance department, retiring in 1987.

He was a member of Beaver Creek Christian Church.

He served on the Board of Beaver Creek Cemetery as trustee and treasurer.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Maxine E. Kershner Shoop; two daughters, Martha J. Hetzer of Hagerstown, and Linda J. Newton of Salisbury, Md.; three sons, Ronald G. Shoop, Michael E. Shoop and David L. Shoop, all of Hagerstown; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Robert L. Shoop Jr.; one sister, Isabel J. Wise; and one brother, Russell E. Shoop.

Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg. The Rev. Mark Curran will officiate. Burial will be in Beaver Creek Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Naomi Price

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Naomi DeGroft Price, 91, a resident of Classic Residence, and formerly of Waynesboro, Pa., died Friday, May 10, 2002, at the nursing home.

Born June 30, 1910, in Hanover, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Amos T. and Alice Vail McCallister DeGroft.

Her husband, Ralph E. Price, died Oct. 27, 1991. They were married June 16, 1932.

She was a 1928 graduate of Hanover High School, then attended Jefferson Hospital School of Nursing, Philadelphia, with the class of 1932.

She worked in the nursing field, and was a homemaker for most of her life.

She was a member of Desert Hills Presbyterian Church, Scottsdale.

She is survived by one daughter, Susan Price Haas of Mayer, Ariz.; one grandson, Joseph E. Haas of Phoenix; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Markle.

Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Price's Church Cemetery near Waynesboro. The Rev. Charles B. Jessen will officiate.

LeRoy H. Warren

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - LeRoy H. Warren, 77, a resident of Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and formerly of 332 Five Forks Lane, Fairfield, Pa., died Saturday, May 18, 2002, at the nursing home.

Born Nov. 22, 1924, in Adams County, Pa., he was the son of the late Albert T. and Bertha Cline Warren.

He attended Greenstone School.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater.

He was a self-employed carpenter all of his life. He also worked at Grove Worldwide in Shady Grove, Pa., from 1981 to 1983.

He was a member of Cascade American Legion Post 239, Cascade; and Blue Ridge Sportsmen's Club, Blue Ridge Summit, Pa.
