CUMBERLAND, Md. - Jen Cook pitched a two-hit complete game with 14 strikeouts as Allegany shut out South Hagerstown in the Class 1A West quarterfinals.

Ashley Atkinson threw five innings with eight strikeouts and nine walks for the Rebels.

FROSTBURG, Md. - Holli Bowers knocked in Cathy Pulieri with an RBI single in the sixth to get the Wildcats (13-8) within one run, but a bad-hop ball in the bottom half of the inning plated two runs as the Mountaineers eliminated Williams-port in the Class 1A West quarterfinals.

THURMONT, Md. - Shawna Wilkes and Sam Weaver combined for a two-hit shutout as Catoctin beat Brunswick in the Class 1A South semifinals.

Jenny Cregger and Kelly Stiles both each 2-for-4 and knocked in a run for Catoctin (18-4). Nikki Sweeney and Cameron Jensen also had two hits for the Cougars.

Brunswick finishes the season 7-15.

SEVERN, Md. - Candy Warden had 13 strikeouts as Frederick beat C. Milton Wright in the Class 4A East semifinals at Randazzo Park.

The Cadets (20-3) trailed going into the fifth inning, but they got three of their six hits in the bottom of that inning to take the lead for good. Joyce Tsikerdanos led Frederick with two hits and an RBI.

FANNETTSBURG, Pa. - Tim Keebaugh struck out 13 and allowed just five hits to lead Southern Fulton over Fannett-Metal.

Scott Ebersole went 2-for-4, driving in the go-ahead run with a double in the seventh inning. Preston Ward went 2-for-3 with two doubles for Southern Fulton (7-12).
