CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Waynesboro, Pa., man escaped from the custody of police officers Monday night as he was being led into Franklin County Prison.

Micah Janning Delosier, 28, of 13061 Welty Road, was being taken into the Chambersburg prison on Franklin Farm Lane at 11:35 p.m. when he ran from Washington Township Police officers, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Delosier hid in a wooded area east of Franklin Farm Lane and north of U.S. 30 for several hours before he was captured near the Sheetz station on U.S. 30 at 6 a.m., police said.

Pennsylvania State Police officers were assisted by the Chambersburg Police Department, the Franklin Fire Co., the Washington Township Police Department and the Maryland State Police Aviation unit.

Delosier escaped police custody after being charged with two counts of simple assault and one count each of harassment and aggravated assault stemming from an incident earlier that night, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

Washington Township Police were contacted at 8 p.m. Monday and told that Delosier would not let his wife, Jolie Delosier, leave their apartment complex, the affidavit said.

Police found the woman in a car with a bruised face, the affidavit said. She let police in their apartment, where Delosier had barricaded himself, the affidavit said.

Once police were able to get in, Delosier allegedly wielded a bat and had to be subdued with pepper spray, the affidavit said.
