Falling Spring AARP chapter installs 2002-03 officers

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Agnes S. Jurgens has been named president of the 700-member Falling Spring chapter, No. 2840, of AARP for the 2002-03 chapter year.

Jurgens is a long-time member and past president of the Institute of Retired Persons and also serves as a volunteer at the Coyle Free Library.

Other officers installed Monday include:

- Jean Trace, first vice president

- Paul Little, second vice president

- Barbara Aveni, secretary

- Shirley Jones, assistant secretary

- Doris Dull, treasurer

- Jack Kane, assistant treasurer

David Boozer and Joe Hins were selected as members of the board. Immediate Past President Francis Hare will serve as adviser to the president for the coming year.


The AARP chapter also named five members to its 2002-03 nominating committee, including Louise Ashburn, Lavonna Hoover, Donald Finkley, Rosalie Bowers and Ruth Metz.

The Falling Spring chapter is involved in a variety of community service projects, including the Chambersburg Toy Mission and Meals on Wheels.
