Eva R. Haney


Eva Ruth Hedderman Haney, 78, of Hagerstown, died Wednesday, April 24, 2002, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Dec. 12, 1923, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late George and Ida Marie Kendle Cressler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Haney Jr.

She had been employed by Washington County Public Schools.

She was a member of Manor Church Senior Services.

She is survived by one daughter, Sylvia R. Hoch of Lemasters, Pa.; one son, Jeffrey A. Haney of Mount Joy, Pa.; one sister, Margaret Cordell of Hagerstown; one stepbrother, Flick Brown of Hagerstown; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, James T. Haney III; one stepsister, Dolly Wissinger; and one stepbrother, Percy Brown.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, Hagerstown. Pastor Jay Fretz will officiate. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

Paulette L. Clark


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -Paulette L. Clark, 43, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, April 24, 2002, at City Hospital.

Born July 26, 1958, in Savannah, Ga., she was the daughter of June Clark Prince of Chattanooga, Tenn., and the late Paul H. Bragg.

She was employed as a licensed practical nurse by Berkeley Family Medicine.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Douglas Clark; two daughters, Andrea Lang of Kearneysville, W.Va., and Toni Shepherd of Martinsburg; two sons, Matthew Clark and Douglas Clark II, both of Martinsburg; two sisters, Cynthia Bragg and Roxanne Baker, both of Chattanooga; and 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, David Bragg.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25401.

Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.

Esther A. Auker


FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Esther A. Schroth Auker, 99, of The Village of Laurel Run, and formerly of Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, Pa., died Wednesday, April 24, 2002, at The Village of Laurel Run.

Born Aug. 26, 1902, in Carrolltown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rosella Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer Schroth, in 1953; and by her second husband, Albert Auker, in 1989.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg.

She is survived by one son, Earl Schroth of Chambersburg; one stepdaughter, Mary Jane Horton of Altoona, Pa.; one granddaughter, Candace Reichard of Waynesboro, Pa.; two great-grandsons; and four stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg. The Rev. Thomas R. Brenner will be celebrant. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Earl F. Williams


INWOOD, W.Va. - Earl Franklin Williams, 72, of Inwood, died Wednesday, April 24, 2002, at his home.

Born Nov. 3, 1929, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late James Arthur and Hattie Fielding Williams.

He retired from Corning Glass after 40 years in the shipping and receiving department.

A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by four sisters, Frances Shade, Edith White, Ruby Jamison and Evelyn Rose, all of Inwood; nieces; nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Randolph Williams, Raymond Williams and Edward Williams.

Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at South Berkeley Funeral Chapel, Inwood. The Rev. Sheril Merki will officiate. Burial will be in Gerrardstown Presbyterian Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

Lola L. Clopper


Lola Lovenolia McManus Clopper, 90, of Hagerstown, who died Monday, April 22, 2002, is survived by one son, Leroy H. Clopper of Myersville, Md.

Zita M. Peters


CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Zita M. Peters, 65, of Manorcare Health Services, died Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born April 9, 1937, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late O'Connell Samuel and Helen Mae Ebersole Buhrman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Peters, in 1974.

She was a 1955 graduate of St. Mary's High School in Hagerstown; and attended Chambersburg Business School.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg.
