Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts to award money for projects

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts will award $38,500 to individual artists and nonprofit organizations for art-related projects and programs in Franklin, Fulton, Adams and western Cumberland counties.

Since 1997, when the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts initiated the program, the Chambersburg Area Council for the Arts has received more than 260 applications and awarded more than $150,700 to 107 successful applicants.

To be eligible, applicants should propose a project that will be open to the public, take place in the four-county region and occur between Sept. 1, 2002, and Aug. 31, 2003. The applicant may request up to $3,000 and must submit the application by June 30 to the Chambersburg Area Council for the Arts, 75 S. Main St., Chambersburg, Pa., 17201.

Applications for the 2002-03 grant program are available from the Chambersburg Council for the Arts by calling 1-717-264-6883, sending e-mail at caca@innernet.net, or by going to www.innernet.net/caca on the Web.

The application and review process is completed in 60 days and checks are awarded shortly thereafter.
