CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Mechanicsburg's Bucky Kosyk and Chambersburg's Ryan Hinkle threw matching four-hitters, but Mechanicsburg was able to take advantage of its scoring opportunities in a 3-0 win over No. 1 Chambersburg on Tuesday.

Hinkle (1-1) held Mechanicsburg hitless until the fifth inning. He struck out four and walked two as Chambersburg (9-2) lost its second straight game.

Kosyk struck out six and walked three.

MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Chris Anderson and Willie Brandenburg combined for 12 strikeouts to lead MIddletown to an upset win over Boonsboro in the Monocacy Valley Athletic League.

Ryan McQuillen had two hits, including a two-run single, and Willie Brandenburg had an RBI double for Middletown.

Nathan Katzel had two hits for Boonsboro (9-2, 7-2).

Josh Carter struck out 16 strikeouts and homered to help St. Maria Goretti defeat St. John's at Prospect Hall.

Carter pitched the first six innings before Mason Herman came on in the seventh inning. After Herman hit the first two batters in the seventh, Carter came back in and finished.

Justin Staubs had four hits, including a two-run homer in the fourth, while Trevor Cobb and Phil Dorsey had two hits and Tim Kellinger had two RBI for Goretti (7-8).
