The Mulherns

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Patrick Mulhern, Jr., of Hampstead, Md., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday, April 19, 2002. The couple was married April 19, 1952, at Anacostia Naval Base in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Mulhern, son of the late Joseph P. and Flora Mulhern of Clear Spring, is employed with John Hancock. Mrs. Mulhern, daughter of the late Ralph E. and Viola M. Leedy of Hagerstown, is retired from Baltimore County.

They are the parents of Michael Mulhern of Hampstead, Patrick Mulhern of Clarksville, Md., JoLynn Karantzalis of Lutherville, Md., and Cindy Young of Parkton, Md. They have six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The Dattilios

Mr. and Mrs. Michael L. Dattilio of St. James Village, Hagerstown, were guests of honor at a surprise 25th wedding anniversary dinner, Saturday, April 13, 2002, at The Red Horse Steak House, Dual Highway in Hagerstown. Family members attended the dinner hosted by their children, Matthew and Lindsay.


A toast was offered by Matthew; and the past 25 years of their married life, with lots of humor, was given by Patti Young, sister of Susan Dattilio.

The Dattilios were married April 16, 1977, by the Rev. Warren L. Baughman of St. Matthew's United Methodist Church in Hagerstown.

Mrs. Dattilio is the former Susan Eichelberger, daughter of Charlotte Eichelberger and the late Vernon S. Eichelberger. She is a local Realtor with O'Connor, Piper and Flynn. Mr. Dattilio is employed at Roadway as a relay coordinator.

The Semlers

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Semler Sr. of Smithsburg celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002. A party was hosted by their children. Approximately 40 family members and friends attended the event.

The Semlers were married Jan. 23, 1932, by Pastor G. Rider, at Grace United Brethren Church in Hagers-town.
