PREP SOFTBALL

FREDERICK, Md. - Candy Warden threw a perfect game, striking out 13 of the 18 hitters she faced Wednesday, as No. 2 Frederick blanked Liberty 10-0 in a Central Maryland Conference game.

"She struck out the first seven she faced, and from that point it looked like she was going to do it tonight," Frederick coach Randy Steiner said. "She had good command of her pitches, even with the weather what it was."

No batter was able to work Warden (5-1) to a full count as she picked up her fourth career no-hitter. The Lions got only one ball out of the infield, a flare just over first base.

Amelia Bernard had two hits and three RBI for the Cadets (6-2, 5-1). Amber Bakner and Joyce Tsikerdanos each had two hits.
