Tommy L. Fogle


THURMONT, Md. - Tommy L. Fogle, 70, of 18 Victor Drive in Thurmont, died Thursday, April 11, 2002, at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, Md.

Born June 6, 1931, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of Harry Kenneth Fogle of Wellsburg, W.Va., and Edgewater, Fla., and the late Mary Burkett Fogle.

He was a 1950 graduate of Fort Hill High School in Cumberland. He received an associate arts degree in engineering in 1954, a bachelor's degree in junior high education in 1957 and a bachelor's in administration and supervision and physical education in 1965. He received his master's plus 30 hours in driver's education and administrative and supervision in 1968.

He started teaching in Frederick County in 1957. He piloted an elementary school physical education program still in existence today for outdoor swimming, teaching children from Emmitsburg, Md., Thurmont and Sabillasville, Md., for more than 20 years and he coached track, football and swimming.

He served in the Marine Corps from 1950-52 during the Korean War.

He was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Thurmont.

In addition to his wife, Wilma Gillesie Fogle, and his father, he is survived by a daughter, Belinda J. Magruder of Pasedena, Md.; three sons, David R. Fogle of Hagerstown and Aaron S. Fogle and Eric S. Fogle, both of Thurmont; a sister, Jean Smith of Wellsburg W.Va., and Edgewater, Fla.; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. St. John's Lutheran Church, 15 North St., Thurmont. The Rev. Judy Moller will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, near Frederick, Md.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Robert E. Daily & Son Funeral Home, P.A., 615 E. Main St., Thurmont. Friends may visit the funeral home on Sunday from 1 to 9 p.m.

Anthony W. Sisler


Anthony William Sisler, infant, of 1 W. Howard St., Hagerstown, died Thursday, April 11, 2002, at Washington County Hospital.

Born April 11, 2002, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Brandon Lee Sisler and Candi Renee Curry of Hagerstown.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by maternal grandfather Ronald W. Curry of Hagerstown; Maternal grandmother Charlene L. Anders of Fairfield, Pa.; Maternal great-grandfather Charles E. Anders Jr. of Laurel, Md.; Maternal great-grandmother Constance Jenkins of Hagerstown; Maternal great-grandparents Ronald and Barbara Curry of Hagerstown; Paternal great-grandparents Thomas and Rene Riley of Hagerstown; Paternal great-grandfather William Mahone of Hagerstown; Step-grandmother Nicole Sisler of Hagerstown; Paternal grandmother Billie Jo Hess; eight uncles; and two aunts.

He was preceded in death by a paternal great-grandmother, Elsie Mahone.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Clair S. Brinton will officiate.

Arrangements are by Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown.

Sandra A. Damasiewicz


Sandra Allison Damasiewicz, 64, of 909 Marion St., Hagerstown, died Friday, April 12, 2002, at her home.

Born May 9, 1937, in Minnesota, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Dorothy Slade Sorenson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter M. Damasiewicz Jr., in 2000.

She retired from the U.S. Census Bureau and was previously employed by E.J. Fennel.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Sagal of Hagerstown and Leslie Bussard of Clear Spring; five sons, Scott Damasiewicz of Baltimore, Michael Damasiewicz of Jacksonville, Fla., Walter Damasiewicz of San Antonio, Jeffrey Damasiewicz of Cosmopolis, Wash., and Philip Damasiewicz of Hagerstown; and 12 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. Arvel J. Barrett will officiate.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Raphael Pierre


CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Raphael Pierre, 43, of 126 E. Vine St., died Tuesday, April 9, 2002, in Chambersburg.

He was born in St. Marc, Haiti.

He attended schools in Haiti.

He was employed by Triple Nickel Auto Parts in Chambersburg as a mechanic and car stripper.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy L. Wingert Pierre, whom he married June 18, 1993; two daughters, Victoria Pierre and Crystal McCann, both of Chambersburg; two sons, Patrick Pierre of Haiti and Samuel Smith of Chambersburg; two stepdaughters, Desirea Tosten and Michelle Tosten, both of Hagerstown; a stepson, James Tosten of Hagerstown; three grandchildren; several sisters and brothers; and nieces and nephews.

Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are by Cumberland Valley Crematorium in Waynesboro.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Janet L. Keyser Yeager, 66, a resident of Manor Care Health Services, formerly of 300 S. Church St., in Waynesboro, Pa., died Friday, April 12, 2002, at Chambersburg Hospital.
