THURMONT, Md. - Brian Baugher had three hits and struck out nine in a complete game effort, and three unearned runs on two Catoctin errors in the sixth inning gave Brunswick (5-3, 4-2) a victory in the MVAL.
Chad Wolfe's solo home run in the second inning and Chris Legore's two-run shot in the fourth provided most of Catoctin's offense. But the Cougars (4-4, 4-2) were done in in the sixth, with both errors coming with two outs.
Legore struck out nine and walked none in a complete-game loss.

THURMONT, Md. - Jenny Cregger had three hits, three stolen bases and two RBI as Catoctin scored six runs in the first inning to remain undefeated in an MVAL contest.
Cameran Jensen and Heidi Stull had two hits and Jess Valentine added a two-run double, while Shawna Wilkes struck out 11 and allowed one hit in four innings to earn the win for the Cougars ((6-0, 6-0).
Kate Prinkey had two hits for Brunswick.

SMITHSBURG - Sean Hunt came through with six goals and four assists, while Kyle Shellenberg added five goals and one assist to help Smithsburg (4-1) beat Brunswick.
Mike Dietrich collected two goals and one assist, while Brent Barnes added one goal and three assists for Smithsburg. Danny Faulders got one goal and two assists, while Kody Snow had one goal and one assist for Smithsburg. Smithsburg goalkeeper Nelson Velez made 12 saves.

Anjulie Canclif had two goals for Mercersburg Academy.
