CLEAR SPRING - Town residents are reminded that spring clean-up days begin next Monday.

This year, items will be picked up from north of Cumberland Street on Monday, April 15.

Unwanted appliances will be gathered and hauled away on Tuesday, April 16, throughout town.

On Wednesday, April 17, areas south of Cumberland Street are scheduled for pick-up.

On Thursday, April 18, brush will be picked up throughout the town.

Bulk trash items allowed include televisions, furniture, carpet and computers.

Recyclable items include metal appliances, lawnmowers, metal, glass bottles and jars, paper including corrugated cardboard, newspapers and magazines.

Among the items not allowed in the free clean-up days pickup are tires, household trash, garbage, gas/propane tanks, construction or building debris or industrial/commercial waste.


Council approves membersfor two town commissions

CLEAR SPRING - Members of two commissions were approved Monday night at the regular meeting of the Mayor and Town Council.

- Members of the new Clear Spring Planning Commission are Margaret Cornett, Carol Hovermale, David Irvin Sr., Mark Myers and Gary Grove, ex-officio member.

- The new Clear Spring Board of Zoning Appeals includes Gary Gruber, Mike Johnson, Curt Kayser and Juanita Grimm, alternate.

All of the commission members serve three-year terms.
