Christian government

To the editor:

Mr. Davis in, "Founders came here to escape religious overbearance" makes the same mistake the misguided are guilty of; but, he almost gets it right. The government did not have to establish a religion of the state; they were overwhelmingly Christian that founded this nation based on the principles of God in the Bible and not any other religions.

The only right they gave to other religions was unabashed worship. As he states, "they believed differently than the government-established Churches in their homelands." Not mosques or other houses of worship to gods that were not defined by scripture. It always amazes me when there is never any official factual information from any official factual document prior to 1947 that separates the Christian (founding) religion from government that is not taken out of context, including the Treaty of Tripoli, when promoting separation of C/S. The liberals know that ignorance is the key to suppression and controlling education will prevail through attrition.

World history teaches without the Christian religion the odds of a suppressed society is profoundly assured. Indicators that the United States was founded on the God of the Bible that the ACLU and ilk have striven to eradicate include: The actual meaning of the first Amendment is as written without biased conjecture; Article III of the Northwest Ordinance; all colleges were Christian; testimony in courts were sworn as true on the Bible; oaths of office are still sworn on the Bible; the Bible was the reading text of the schools; prayer in schools and governments was, and in some cases still, the norm of the day; Christian Chaplains are paid by the government to give generic Christian comfort and worship to our fighting men and women; Webster's dictionary was filled with references to God along with Biblical quotes in defining words.

Seems strange the ACLU does not take on the military for their freedom from religion or their Commander in Chief. Amen!

God is good

To the editor:

God created the heavens and earth and all the creatures on earth and the fowl of the air, in five days, and on the sixth day he formed man of the earth, and God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

God blessed the seventh day, sanctified it; because that in it he rested from all his work which God created and made. He made it a sign between him and his people, he made man in his own image, so we are very special to him.

There was war in heaven Satan was driven out of heaven along with one third of the angels that he deceived, God could have destroyed them at once, but God wants everyone to serve him out of love, not fear, so the godhead let it play out.

Satan showed his true character at the cross when he had Jesus our savior crucified on the cross, but it is still being played out, Satan is still going around deceiving the whole world by having them break one of God's commandments, the Sabbath commandment that is all it takes, because if you break one, you've broken them all.

All Christians follow Jesus

To the editor:

William E. Pigg judges all professing Christians as not being followers of Jesus. Wrong! Second, he doesn't know the reasons a spouse divorces. Many have good reasons, biblical, too!

Third, he hasn't experienced any mountain moving by God. Many "mountains of difficulty" have moved for many humans as a result of "belief" in God!

Fourth, he claims cancer eradication would be good "for starters" for prayers. He forgets to mention in his Mt. 21:22 quote that "believing" is the key for cancer cure or any other non-human solution to problems. Example, my brother had pancreatic cancer, given 2 to 2.5 years to live. He lived 32 years longer! No cancer! The result of a request to God!

Fifth, he misquotes Scripture saying, "according to Jesus you only need to ask." Read again, Mr. Pigg, "believing" is in there. Why prayers are not always answered is found in James 4:3, "Ye ask amiss..." Why" "that ye may consume it upon your lusts."

Agreed, we all struggle. Some with God's help, some without.

Sixth, to say: "we are all we have" is a tough husk. I see a design in every leaf, plant and animal. There's a Designer if there's a design! I see the heavenly bodies all in a very organized fashion. There is an organizer! I see a purpose in all things. There's a purpose planner!

I see a fantastic human mechanism multiplied by millions. I see a great creator! None of these, organizer, purpose planner, designer, creator, needs a Bible for humans to comprehend! They are arguments outside scripture for a God. But the Bible adds explanation, and we can get to know a loving God by reading it. So, I say quit, "Pigging" out on husks, eat the good grain. Taste and see that the Lord is good!
