In 1906 a pair of mules pulling D.S. Snively's delivery wagon backed into a Western Maryland passenger train that was departing the WM Station in Hagerstown. James Armstrong was making a delivery for Snively at V.T. Meredith's store on Foundry Street when the accident occurred, scattering onions in all directions.
