Middletown 1, Linganore 0: At Middletown, Md., Marc Crawford singled in the fifth to score Randy Lawson from third with the only run of the game for Middletown (1-2).

Randy Lawson led off the inning by reaching on an error and took second on Chris Anderson's single. After Willie Brandenburg advanced the runners to second and third, Crawford got the RBI with a swinging bunt single.

Brandenburg pitched the complete-game win, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out seven. Linganore stranded the tying run on third in the sixth and second in the seventh.

Walkersville 6, Frederick 2: At Middletown, Md., Mike Mullinix struck out nine over five innings to earn the win and added an RBI single as the Lions defeated Frederick.

Walkersville faces Middletown in the semifinals Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Lions (1-0) capitalized on walks and errors to score four runs in the fourth inning, opening a 6-0 lead that was never threatened.

Chad Fisher had three hits to lead Frederick.

LONACONING VALLEY, Pa. - Adam Mills pitched a complete game, allowing five hits, walking one and fanning three, while Gerad Haupt and Casey Constable had two hits and Haupt stole two bases to lead the Blazers (1-0).

S. Fulton 2, Hancock 1

HANCOCK - Scott Ebersole hit a two-out, two-run single with the bases loaded in the fifth inning to lift Southern Fulton to the victory.

The hit made a hard-luck loser of Brandon Fling, who had 12 strikeouts but walked two and hit two batters. Both walks and one of the hit batters came in the fifth, setting up the winning hit.

Hancock scored its run in the third on Mark Hoffman's RBI grounder.

Southern Fulton pitcher Matt Meyer hurled a complete game with 13 strikeouts. Ebersole had two of the Indians' three hits.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Steve Kozak had three hits and three RBI, while Brian McLaughlin added three hits as Jefferson advanced to the semifinals of the Hawaiian Tropic Classic.

Donnell Lee added two hits for the Cougars (7-1), which will play either Aynor, S.C. or Upper St. Clair, Pa. today at 7:30 p.m.

McGwin had three hits, while Lascelles Riley had three hits and two RBI for the Trojans.

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Waynesboro commited two of its four errors in the third inning, leading to the go-ahead runs in Central Dauphin's victory.

The Indians (1-1) fell behind 3-0 before picking up a run in the fourth on Jeremy Geesaman's sacrifice fly. Rusty Lynn tripled - one of Waynesboro's two hits - in the fifth and scored on Phil Woodring's sacrifice fly.

Central Dauphin starting pitcher Chip Miller struck out five in two innings.
