Plans to add drive-thrus at F&M Bank approved

The Hagerstown Planning Commission Wednesday approved a site plan for F&M Bank at 1326 Salem Ave. which adds two drive-thru lanes on the east side of the building.

There currently are drive-thru lanes for automated teller machines on the east and west sides of the building, city Zoning Administrator Debbie Everhart said.

The site plan removes the lane and machine on the west side, she said.

The plan adds two lanes on the east side for customers to make transactions with bank tellers, Everhart said.

Rita's Italian Ice site plan accepted

The Hagerstown Planning Commission Wednesday approved a site plan for an 800-square-foot business, Rita's Italian Ice, to open at 1313 Pennsylvania Ave.

The business will have a drive-thru lane, City Zoning Administrator Debbie Everhart said.

The store will have a lighted sign of a height of 20 feet or less.

Owner Dennis Myers of Mercersburg, Pa., said work at the site probably will begin in early May.
