H. Willard Good


WAYNESBORO, Pa. - H. Willard Good, 82, of 112 Fairview Ave., Waynesboro, died Monday, March 25, 2002, at Waynesboro Hospital.

Born Sept. 13, 1919, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Harper Allen and Ramona Mae Reichard Good.

He was a 1937 graduate of Waynes-boro High School. He attended Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pa., specializing in mechanical engineering. He completed a drafting course from International Correspondence Schools in Scranton, Pa., and a diesel engineering course from the New York Diesel Institute of New York. He graduated from Journeyman Machinist Trade School of Landis Tool Co., Waynesboro.

His wife, Mary Pauline McKenzie Good, died March 25, 1997.

He was employed in the engineering department at Landis Tool Co. from 1940-1944; worked in the Die Head Engineering Department at Landis Machine Co. from 1946-1959; and for Pangborn Division, Hagerstown, from 1959 until retiring in 1985. He held several patents.

He was a member of Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, where he served as a deacon, was a member and teacher of the Christian Homebuilder's Sunday School Class and served on the Finance, Christian Education, Ministry and Properties committees.

He was a member of AARP South Chapter 2977, Waynesboro; and National AARP. He was an Eagle Scout with two Eagle Palms. He was Scoutmaster of Troop 7 at Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, chairman of the troop committee and served on district Scout committees.

He is survived by one son, Darwin E. Good of Waynesboro; two sisters, Frances P. Kuhn of Palmyra, Pa., and Lillian R. Good of Waynesboro; one brother, Charles E. Good, of Zullinger, Pa.; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Waynesboro Church of the Brethren. The Revs. Prudence B. Yelinek and James Lucas will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg, Pa.

The family will receive friends Friday at 1 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, 117 S. Church St., Waynesboro, PA 17268.

Arrangements are by Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro.




Ruth I. Cromwell


THREE SPRINGS, Pa. - Ruth Irene Cromwell, 87, of HCR 73, died Monday, March 25, 2002, at Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg, Pa.

Born Jan. 30, 1915, in McConnellsburg, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Sylvia Naugle Rhodes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Cromwell, in 1988.

She was a homemaker. She worked at H.J. Heinz Co., Knouse Foods, and Letterkenny Army Depot, all in Chambersburg, Pa.

She was a member of Church of God, Huntingdon, Pa.

She is survived by five daughters, Beulah Siders of Brunswick, Ohio, Betty Clippinger of Hustontown, Pa., Bertha Knable of Harrisonville, Pa., Patricia Black of Chambersburg, Pa., and Deloris Mills of Three Springs; three sons, Royal Clevenger of Aragon, Ga., Donald Clevenger of Athens, Texas, and Thomas E. Cromwell of Three Springs; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters; one brother; one half-sister; and one great-granddaughter.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at M.R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown. Pastor Brian Crum will officiate. Burial will be in Cromwell Church Cemetery, RD, Hustontown.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.




Charles L. Johnson


GERRARDSTOWN, W.Va. - Charles L. Johnson, 89, of Gerrardstown, died Monday, March 25, 2002, at Evergreen Rehab in Winchester, Va.

Born June 9, 1912, in Gerrards-town, he was the son of the late Lewis W. and Mary Byrd Johnson.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was a member of Mt. Olive Methodist Church.

He is survived by two sons, Les Johnson and John Johnson, both of Boston; one nephew; two nieces; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell Johnson and James F. Johnson.

Services will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg, W.Va. The Rev. Alfred E. Statesman will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Gerrardstown.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Hillard P. Moore


WILLIAMSPORT - Hillard Prather "Shorty" Moore, 78, of 30 E. Church St., Apt. 3, who died Sunday, March 24, 2002, served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.




Shari M. Price


CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Shari M. Price, 30, of 709 Broad St., died Monday, March 25, 2002, at her home.

Born Dec. 7, 1971, in Cornwall, N.Y., she was the daughter of John B. Snyder of Chambersburg and Marie Babcock Miley of Fayetteville, Pa.

She was a 1990 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School, and attended Head Hunters Academy of Cosmetology in Chambersburg.

She was employed by Holiday Inn in Chambersburg, Sprint in Carlisle, Pa., and Best Western in Chambersburg.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Chambersburg.
